The Friends of the Snake River is currently being organized by landowners,  hunters, canoeists and fishermen from northern Kanabec County--the area east of Woodland.  This organization has been prompted by the serious threat of motorized vehicle trail development on state lands immediately adjacent to the pristine waters of the Snake River.  The initial organizational meeting of these concerned citizens will be held January 9, 2000.  The intent is to organize to defend the natural resources of the Snake River and its watershed.

As the organization is created, progress will be posted to this page.  In the meantime we invite those who care about protecting and preserving the Snake River to join us.  We will add you to our e-mail mailing list and notify you about the activities, issues and needs of efforts to protect and preserve.
