There are many events in the Snake River region each year.  We will post them here or provide links to websites as they become know to us.

The Friends of the North West Company Snake River Fur Post maintain a current calendar of events on their website.  This post was built in 1804-05, and rediscovered in the 1950s.  

February 24-26, 2000, Rivers Council of Minnesota, Third Annual State of the Rivers Meeting: "Monitoring, Money, and Messages: Tools to Protect Rivers Locally", Conference Center for Graduate and Law School, Hamline University, 1536 Hewitt Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota.

The first day's theme is using volunteer monitoring to build a river conservation             program.  The second day's theme is the role of the private and public sectors in creating sustainable river protection.  The third day's theme is creating a message that inspires river stewardship.

The Snake River Canoe Race begins at the Hinckley Road Bridge north of Mora  on May 6.  The race begins at 9:30AM.  Registration is required.  See What's New page for further information and contacts.

The Minnesota Historical Society operates the North West Company Fur Post near Pine City.  Activities from May 7 through September 16 are planned.  See Events at the North West Company Fur Post.
